Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition in which a person sweats excessively and unpredictably.People with hyperhidrosis may sweat even when the temperature is cool or when they are at rest. Men and women are equally affected.
Palmar hyperhidrosis, or sweaty palms is the most common manifestation, and the most socially disturbing. Sufferers fear any situation which may require hand contact. Besides palmar hyperhidrosis there are plantar hyperhidrosis (soles of feet), axillary (arm pits) hyperhidrosis, and facial blushing. (For my case its called Palmoplantar Hyperhidrosis - palms & soles of the feet excessive sweating)
There are 2 kind of Hyperhidrosis Treatment:
1. non surgery,
Antiperspirant type creams, lotions, liquids, sprays and more (Anhydrol Forte, Antihydral, Certain-Dri, Dehydral, Driclor, Drysol, 5-Day, Klima, Maxim, MegaDry, Mitchum's, Odaban, Secure Wipes, Zerac and many more). Very good chance of success for armpit sweating, especially if the product is prescription strength. For hand and feet sweating, success rates are lower, although if you are persistent in applying the product daily after showering at night and possibly even covering the hand or foot in sarin wrap, you might get good results.
Iontophoresis (HIDREX, Idromed, Fisher MD-1a, Idrostar, Iomax4, Drionic, homemade machines and more).
Pharmacological Treatments (Avert, Ditropan/Oxybutynin, Robinul or Robinul Forte and more).
Botox. Botulinum toxin type A (Botox) is FDA approved for the treatment of severe underarm sweating, a condition called primary axillary hyperhidrosis. Small doses of purified botulinum toxin injected into the underarm temporarily block the nerves that stimulate sweating. Side effects include injection-site pain and flu-like symptoms. If you are considering Botox for other areas of excessive sweating talk to your doctor in detail. Botox used for sweating of the palms can cause mild, but temporary weakness and intense pain.
Alternative Treatments (Meditation, Hypnosis, Acupuncture, Biofeedback, Counseling and so on).
Local Surgical Techniques. The local procedures (termed local because the surgery is performed at the point of the sweating) excision, curettage, and liposuction may be used to treat extreme underarm sweating. During excision, sweat glands may be cut out. Similarly, during curettage they may be scraped out. And during liposuction they may be removed by suction. Dermatologists often have good results with these techniques.
ETS (Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy) Surgery, surgical procedure where certain portions of the sympathetic nerve trunk are eliminated.
